Clock Works specializes in quality clock repair, restoration,
and service for new and antique time pieces.
Joe DeGiovanni, owner, has a degree in physics, and mechanical
devices have always been his passion. An interest in clocks
started in 1970 with the gift of several family heirlooms.
Allegany Clock Works began as a hobby collecting and restoring
old clocks, and upon retirement in 1996, Joe began devoting
more time to developing the hobby into a business. Since then,
repairs have been made to over 850 clocks for customers both
locally and through contacts established on the internet.
Recognizing the need for warranty and service work on popular
name brands, certification was obtained from Howard Miller,
Ridgeway & Sligh clock companies in order to become an
authorized service center.
Allegany Clock Works offer ultrasonic cleaning, replacement
of springs, bushings and pivots, shaft straightening, and
gear repair. They also do case restoration, old glass replacement,
and networking with other specialists for wood gears. Hand
painting, custom clock dials, and re-silvering, are also a
part of the bill of fair for clock enthusiasts now,
wheres that mouse?
Free estimates, historical data and appraisals are also
provided for repaired clocks that have significant antique
value. Mr. DeGiovanni is a member of the National Association
of Watch and Clock Collectors. Information is available by
