"Schoolhouse
Earth"
A
Unique Place to Shop in Garrett County, Maryland!
|
Schoolhouse Earth just the name evokes the kind of feeling
that takes you back to a simpler time when individual attention
was the rule instead of the exception a time when visitors
were welcomed as guests in your home, and the details really
mattered.
Enter the magical world of Schoolhouse Earth, a charming cluster
of shops nestled comfortably off the beaten path, but minutes
from the bustling activity of Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. Offering
an exquisite selection of fine gifts and accessories, owner
Nancy Graham, her partner, Stephen, and son, Evan welcome you
as part of the family.
Schoolhouse Earth began, as many businesses do, as the dream
of some-one with talent and determination. Countless businesses
are successful based on that alone, but as Nancy says, her business
was founded on this belief: If you do what you love to
do, and you do it from the heart, success will follow.
That belief is evident in each of the delightful shops that
are overflowing with exceptional gifts, beautiful music, handmade
ornaments and homespun touches. A unique gourmet food section,
with sampling on weekends, will tempt even the most sophisticated
palate.
Each shop is a feast for the senses and lingering is
a must since every inch is brimming with treasures. But
as visitors will see, it isnt just the lovely items and
how they are displayed that makes Schoolhouse Earth so special.
It is the time and effort, and careful attention to detail that
makes the experience so memorable. Whether its the peaceful
music playing, the intoxicating scents, or the soft whisper
of wind chimes the complete picture leaves no doubt that
Nancy and Stephen truly love what they are doing. A warm and
helpful staff is also there to enhance your experience and meet
all of your needs.
For the past fifteen years, Schoolhouse Earth has offered an
array of extraordinary products. In 1986, while Nancy held a
demanding full-time job, she also produced and sold folk art
right from her home. Eventually, as the business grew, so did
Nancys desire to turn her part-time passion into a full-time
way of life. Five years ago, Stephen also made the transition
from other employment to the life, the business, and the magic
they now nurture together full-time.
Even the myriad of animals are part of the familyincluding
Scotty, the huge Scottish Highlander cow; Louie,
the goat who thinks hes a dog; Abigail, the
donkey; and the irresistible Cassie the dog, who
is sure to provide an enthusiastic welcome. All the animals
are lovingly tended and delighted to have visitors!
Today, all the shops at Schoolhouse Earth offer unique products,
but they also convey a unique sense of commitment, dedication
and love for all things beautiful. You are invited to visit
the shops at the Deep Creek Lake location anytime, or visit
their new home-site as you sit back, relax and browse
through the new on-line catalogwww.schoolhouseearth.com.
Either way, the old-fashioned promise of fine quality and service
is yours.
If you do what you love to do, and you do it from the
heart, success will follow something Nancy, Stephen
and Evan not only believe, but they live it everyday at Schoolhouse
Earth
a truly magical experience!
